Vereniging vrienden van de bakkerij presenteert samen met Joeb Tropical Surf Friday! Met surfbands The Mariños en de Biarritz Boys. Met dj Spook! Cumbia!

During the hot summer of 2001, on a Biarritz beach witnessing one of the seasons most beautifull sunsets, four young gods decided to say yes to the idea of forming a band completely dedicated to that one forgotten genre of Surf/instro. The Biarritz Boys were born. Picking up their vintage instruments and doing stage-moves that would make even Elvis jealous, the boys changed every stage in to an extravaganza in which it is either dance or drown. The Biarritz Boys have already followed the footsteps of Greatness when they play along with the Paladins during the Kids ’n Billies festival in their hometown. So tune in, and enjoy the hip, slick, ultra-violent and supersexy surfsound of….The Biarritz Boys!

Vier nazaten van de beruchte familia de Mariños besloten zich een dik jaar gelden te storten op het gebied waarin de van origine Mexicaanse familia al eeuwenlang furore maakt: entertainment. Al in de jaren ’60 raakte de familie in de ban van die ene muziekstijl, zo energiek, zo vol passie, zo universeel en toch zo lokaal, jazeker, we hebben het over SURF! Zich bewust van hun wortels bedachten de broers Benito, Frederico, Mariño en Arturo dat zij dit verstofte muziekgenre en hun vergeten familie opnieuw op de wereldkaart konden zetten. En onder hun familienaam ‘the Mariños’ doen ze dat nu, vol passie, gedrevenheid en met een glimlach van oor tot oor.
