Na hiphop, metal, dance en vele andere stijlen en projecten is Airway-X (een alter ego van Erwin Palper) in december 2008 solo gegaan. De combinatie van rock, breakbeats en samples is wat Airway-X zijn eigen sound geeft. Al sinds zijn vroege jeugd heeft hij gitaren in zijn handen gehad, en later werd dit aangevuld met computers, draaitafels en drums.

In het dagelijks leven geluidstechnicus, maar in zijn producties is Airway-X eerder experimenteel. Apparatuur wordt zelf gebouwd of gemodificeerd, wat ervoor zorgt dat zijn producties nooit hetzelfde klinken als de algemene preset-cultuur die heerst.

Of volgens de organisatie van Subtopia, een tweemaandelijks feest in Amersfoort: “Airway-X is voor de gemiddelde Amersfoorter bekend, aangezien deze muzikale duizendpoot al van jongs af aan bijna alles heeft aangepakt waar geluid uit komt. De muziek […] herbergt dan ook verschillende stijlen, maar heeft een uitermate dansbaar karakter en scherpe hooks als watermerk. Een gruwelijk goeie sound die we […] niet mogen missen!”

Naast de bijna ‘standaard’ laptop-sets die men tegenwoordig veel ziet, is Airway-X in staat een volledige live-show neer te zetten, inclusief live gitaren en drums. Ook een visuele show maakt hier deel van uit.

BCNOBEL: ‘I’ve been digitally composing music since the year 2000. I started out with Magix, and Impulse Tracker, but after a couple of months I eventually grew into using Renoise Music Tracker, and I’ve used this software ever since. As we are in the year 2009 at the moment, I’ve been composing music for 9 years now, and so far I’ve managed to publish 5 albums so far, and my next album is coming up within the next couple of months. Vector Equilibrium: ‘m a dutch music producer working in Renoise Tracker. I’ve been producing various music styles for a coule of years now but in the last one or two years have began making Dubstep and Drum and Bass.
